Description
South African Airways (SAA) is looking for an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and executive support. This role involves handling a wide range of tasks independently, anticipating the needs of the executive, and ensuring the efficient operation of the CEO’s office. The Executive Assistant will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders while contributing to process improvements and operational optimization.
As an Executive Assistant, you will interface internally with departments and represent the CEO’s office in an effective and professional manner, including interactions with SAA executives, management, and Board members. You will create strong networks throughout SAA to ensure the effective flow of information to and from the CEO’s office while promoting SAA’s brand by maintaining a high standard of professional communication with all stakeholders. The role requires ensuring smooth communication between the CEO’s office and internal departments while maintaining credibility, trust, and support with senior management. You will efficiently resolve enquiries and complaints directed to the office using specialized knowledge and escalate where necessary. Managing the CEO’s diary effectively while maintaining stakeholder relationships with integrity and professional conduct is essential. You will be responsible for communicating complex correspondence on behalf of the CEO to various stakeholders and performing personal errands for the CEO as required. Screening calls to reroute non-essential inquiries to appropriate staff members and taking messages where necessary is part of the role. Additionally, you will manage and maintain an up-to-date filing system to ensure information is easily accessible and accurately archived when needed. Preparing a variety of high-quality strategic documentation, including reports, agreements, letters, presentations, and executive packs, with utmost confidentiality is expected. You will reconcile all project deliverables concerning governance processes and financial implications while living and role modeling SAA values.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a Grade 12/Matric or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 4, with a relevant Bachelor's degree considered an advantage. A Secretarial or Business Management diploma at NQF level 6 is required. Candidates must have at least five years of previous experience in an executive assistant capacity and advanced proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of corporate governance, business and management principles, and legislative frameworks, including PFMA, is essential.
