Description
As a Ramp Agent (Customer Service Agent), you will be responsible for safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from the aircraft. You will ensure timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions. Additionally, you will safeguard cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions. This role requires safely driving and operating ground equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors, in areas of congestion. You will also operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer’s destination.
The starting pay is $21.85 per hour.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, applicants must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. They must possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Proficiency in English is required, along with a consistent focus on prioritizing safety and security for themselves, others, and personal data. Applicants should embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles, and hold a valid driver’s license. A physical ability test (PAT) must be passed. Additionally, applicants must be able to wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear, and high-visibility safety apparel, unless an approved accommodation is made for alternate PPE. The ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal is also required.
