The following opportunities are at our Southwest Headquarters
Flight Operations Safety Programs & Assurance
Support the Flight Operations Safety team, its programs and all associated duties. This includes, but not limited to, operation and oversight of all flying safety programs including Aviation Safety Action Partnership (ASAP), Flight Data Analysis Program (FDAP), and Fatigue Risk Management (FRMP).
Work hand in hand with Flight Ops Safety Team to support the design, implementation and oversight of all safety assurance and targeted monitoring plans, and documentation of those activities for Flight Operations.
Flight Operations LEAD Ops Scheduling & Training
Support efforts related to the safe, hospitable, efficient and cost effective utilization of Pilots, Check Airmen, Flight Instructors, flight simulators, and other training resources in the conduct of flight training operations according to all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and approved Southwest Airlines manuals.
Assist with onboarding and engagement of new hire Pilots while in the Flight Training Center (LEAD Center)
Assist in gathering feedback to utilize in creating processes/best practices to increase engagement and instill culture among Pilots
Handles project work related to onboarding and engagement
Flight Operations Pilot Onboarding and D225
Supports all Southwest Airlines’ Pilots with a specific focus on the development of our first year Pilots. The Onboarding Team guides Pilots through initial training, provides leadership development opportunities, and gathers feedback to improve the Pilot experience.
Work hand in hand with the Pilot Onboarding and Destination 225 (D225) Team(s) to manage multiple programs, event coordination and planning, data entry, analyzing confidential Pilot survey feedback, and participating in Culture events.
Flight Operations Flight Technical
Support in the design and development of special projects for the Department in order to represent SWA to the Federal Aviation Administration, Air Transport Association, Boeing Company and various industry organizations in support of the Flight Operation.
Work with Flight Technical Team on special projects related to industry compliance and procedures.
People Department Talent Acquisition
Recruit, evaluate, and hire the best people to work for Southwest Airlines and help fill open positions with the best talent to keep the company strong and help it grow.
Intern event coordination and planning, scheduling interviews, hiring events, scanning documents, filling, compliance audit data gathering, data entry and documentation, and assisting with ongoing projects, etc.
Technology Software Developer
The Network Engineering department is seeking a motivated intern with experience in coding, debugging, and a team player. Join the SWA family and gain exciting real-world software development experience.
Requirements: Experience in Python, Java, or Java Script, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in teams
Network Engineering Suite (NetSuite) is a consolidated suite of numerous Network Engineering tools that are normally not available to general users. The goal of this toolset is to provide users with high-level network performance metrics, detailed field location network services, and self-services troubleshooting tools as well as supporting any Network Engineering Automation efforts.
Additional skills include: Basic knowledge of API's and experience with React
Technology Network Engineering
The Network Engineering department is seeking a motivated intern that’s interested in how we keep SWA protected, connect our Customers to their ultimate destinations, and support the Business’s initiative’s. Join the SWA family and gain exciting real-world network engineering experience!
Requirements: Basic understanding of switching, routing, and firewalls, strong analytical skills, and an ability to work in Teams
Network Engineering uses an array of products and technologies which includes: Cisco switching/routing/firewalls/WiFi, Palo Alto firewalls/URL filtering/IPS/IDS, Citrix SDWAN, and Riverbed. These products and technologies build the infrastructure that makes SWA the #1 LUVable Airline!
Technology Corporate Campus Services & Support
This position will provide onsite 2nd level hardware and software customer support; consisting of desktop and laptop imaging, configuration and troubleshooting. Strong teamwork, a great attitude and outstanding hospitality are a must.
Technology Quality Management Office
Work with Quality Management Office Team to delivery Testing for the assigned portfolio. Attend daily stand ups with Testing Team to plan work for the day. Learn how to gather information and details to build and write testing criteria and the definition of done. Learn how to write and execute testing scripts and build testing plans.
Tech Ops Business Process Publications Specialist
The Business Process Publications Specialist
Acts as a liaison between Technical Operations and Central Publications; Monitors and works with internal groups to facilitate the Document Change Request (DCR) Process
Helps discover and map out business processes using an Enterprise wide software system
Works with process owners to revise their documentation.
The following opportunity is at the Love Field Airport:
Ground Operations
Provide personnel support to Southwest Airlines Employees at the Station by assisting them with functions such as payroll, attendance and leave, staffing, and maintaining personnel records and resources.
Assist with printing, filing, event and meeting coordination and set up, locker oversight, assist with day one onboarding, communicate with Internal/External Customers, research projects to support Station goals and objectives, and participate in Culture Events and planning.

Job Requirements
must be 16 years old by June 13, 2022
Currently enrolled in high school with a Sophomore or Junior status
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above preferred
Transportation to/from Southwest Airlines offices noted in the job description above
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
Airport position candidates must be able to provide required documentation to obtain a security badge
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Classroom experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
Strong written/verbal communications skills
Prior work experience, extracurricular activities, and Leadership experience preferred
Quick learner, self-motivated, organized, team-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with a sense of humor
