Job Description
This role will support the department's communication initiatives, which include planning, writing, cross-functional coordination, seeking input and approval, monitoring social channels, and reporting/tracking communication. This role will partner closely with Labor Communication Team Members, Negotiating Teams, Operation Leaders, Communication Advisors, and external Stakeholders to develop/deliver communications and update plans. .
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Write and design communications for Leaders and Employees including memos, letters, negotiation updates, toolkits, presentations, digital signs, resource guides, pamphlets, video scripts, banners, and articles
Develop and provide training to internal Customers on the appropriate use, content, design, workflows, and changes associated with communication platforms
Develop communication strategies for the delivery of corporate culture and business strategy
Partner with Department Leadership and Labor Relations Teams to gather information regarding strategic planning for contract negotiations and long-term goals
Partner, communicate, and build relationships to gather Customer and business requirements and communicate effectively on behalf of Sr. Leadership
Monitor industry news and union communications relating to labor negotiations
Monitor, document, and archive incoming and outgoing labor communications
Assist with updating and reviewing the Labor Negotiations website for relevancy, consistency, and accuracy
Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or department personnel
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Job Requirements
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain using written, oral, and visual media
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Skilled in Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and speaking with others
Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Entry level experience; developing skills and knowledge in planning, monitoring, writing, and coordination of internal and external communications
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
