Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Manage all facets of cargo operations and performance from third-party contracted service providers (business partners)
Monitor and ensure business partners meet departmental service standards and key performance indicators (KPI)
Provide cargo subject matter expertise and training to business partner staff and offshore HA station teams as required
Coordinate and support charter cargo operations as required
Coordinate all cargo operations with HA Airport Operations representatives
Ensure cargo operation is in full compliance with all government regulatory requirements to include TSA cargo security, Customs (CBP) AMS, FAA Dangerous Goods, DOT, USDA, HI USDA, EPA, and other Federal and State Regulatory agencies
Disseminate Cargo Manuals, Cargo Bulletins and Cargo Alerts and technical writing as required
Manage and represent an active safety culture, fostering employee engagement and inspecting assigned work areas for threats and hazards, reporting results and findings, and developing mitigation measures or action plans
Support Cargo Sales group’s promotional and brand strategies and pricing initiatives by ensuring safe, compliant and successful handling and transportation of cargo
Independently manage area of operations to support departmental growth plan
Manage KPIs to identify and influence operational or procedural changes where necessary to sustain performance at or above Hawaiian standards
Develop and manage Quality Assurance audits of business partners specifically recognizing areas of improvement as well as service excellence

Domiciled in Honolulu and the U.S. Mainland

Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
5 years of airline customer service, cargo, or equivalent experience
3 years of manager experience leading individual employees or managing vendors
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance to include FAA, TSA, and Customs regulations regarding cargo operations, safety, and security
Must have ability to be mobile and oversee U.S. Mainland stations (Offshore) as required
Must complete all regulatory training to include but not limited to: dangerous goods/HAZMAT acceptance, handling and awareness; cargo security and screening
Must complete Cargo systems (SmartKargo) training and be able to gain proficiency in all SmartKargo procedures and must be able to assist vendor personnel with SmartKargo concerns and issues
Must possess basic skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications

Must have received the COVID Vaccine by date of hire
Bachelor’s degree
Five years of management experience in an airline or air freight environment
Vendor management experience
