    The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. The Lead AMT 2 – Shop is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment.

    Additionally, the Lead AMT is responsible for the day-to-day operations in Department 362 to ensure production and customer goals are achieved.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Enters time and attendance records.

    • Monitors production turnaround time (TAT) and Throughput.

    • Maintains cell metric boards.

    • Assists shop personnel with repair processes.

    • Determines root cause for defects.

    • Gives performance evaluations.

    • Completes assignments given by the Product Line Manager.

    • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.


    Job Requirements

    • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

    • Must have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.

    • Must have a valid driver's license.

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug test.

    • Must be authorized to work in the US.

    • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including rotating or fixed shifts, weekends and holidays.

    • Must be able to act as the working leader of a team, give work assignments, give work instructions, and supervise the work of the team.

    • Must be capable of driving excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    • Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.

    • Must also be able to work and operate in a safe and compliant manner without close supervision.

    • Should have strong organizational skills and be able to respond to changing or multiple work demands.

    • (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.

    • Preferred Qualifications

    • Gearbox knowledge is preferred.

    • Should be willing to earn a minimum certification in Six Sigma methods as a Greenbelt once in the position.
