The Senior Manager, Social Media is a member of the Communications Delivery and Experience team, who knows how to tell stories that drive engagement. You will use your passion for social to create compelling content to further enhance our brand story and cultivate our ever-growing @AmericanAir fan base across our social platforms. Your creative thinking, knack for design and strategic mindset will lead the team in building thoughtful campaigns in partnership with business units across the organization which continues to evolve our social media strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Lead a team responsible for social content strategy for @AmericanAir and senior executive social profiles
Develop cohesive tactics that drive growth and engagement across our current social channels (Facebook, Twitter,Instagram, Linkedln, YouTube) and assess emerging new channels
Partner with marketing on integrated campaign planning and collaborate with our creative teams to ensure stories visuals and tone of voice are consistent
Create social programming that amplifies our brand messaging and inspires our followers to engage and share
Understand the American Airlines customer (and team member), to inform compelling, social-forward narratives
Think about social media holistically and project manage content deliverables (e.g., photography, video, story boards) to execution by collaborating with creative partner team and social copywriters
Develop and help execute senior leader social media thought leadership programs, aligning to message platforms, business goals and executive personalities
Identify what should be measured and utilize data insights to lead content approach
Optimize current tools and platforms used for analytics, reporting, and tracking
Oversee community management and the best way to repurpose follower content to reinforce our messaging
Manage and report social media production budget, influencer budget, and platform tool budget
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or journalism
8 years of experience in social media and content marketing
Strong attention to detail, numerical, statistical and analytical skills
Organized, accountable, and action-oriented
Culture-obsessed. Someone who lives and breathes social and has a special place in their heart for trending topics
Agile and able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Experience leading, managing and developing teams
Proven track record of creating and executing effective social media and community programs
Knowledge of and experience with various social media platform tools, google analytics, link tracking tools
Base knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices
