This job is a member of the Flight Service Team within the Customer Experience Division. Responsible for developing, delivering and increasing the effectiveness of communications to over 28,000+ flight attendants on behalf of Flight Service.

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for a broad communications suite including digital/web, email, internal systems and social media to ensure that a remote workforce, and their leadership teams, stay plugged into mission-critical information, policy and procedure updates as well as commercial updates such as onboard dining, retail, entertainment and loyalty programs
Writes and edits copy for a variety of internal communications channels - adhering to American's editorial style and tone of voice
Proactively strategizes, creates and executes communication campaigns to engage employees, developing editorial plans that will effectively use Flight Service and American’s existing communications channels in new, more collaborative ways
Works closely with company officers, senior leadership team and various business units throughout the airline to ensure Flight Service is top of mind
Presents complex information in a digestible way
Advises and coordinates strategy for centralizing communications to numerous workgroups, fostering relationships with departmental communications leads
Builds trust as a communications advisor to share expertise and guidance
Leads large scale special projects
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Strategic Communications or equivalent experience/training
Previous commercial airline experience
Ability to use web publishing and content management systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and presentation development for executives
Ability to use PC (Windows) and Apple (iOS) products
Ability to strategize and execute challenging projects on deadline and on budget
Ability to delve into complex business issues and explain them to frontline team members in a clear, understandable way
Ability to work independently and on a team
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at time management and ability to work under tight deadlines
to use web publishing and content management systems
Results oriented
Previous commercial airline experience
2 years related professional experience in journalism and/or strategic communications
Mastery of AP style
