Job Description
The Unit Load Device (ULD) Lead Technician is responsible for on-site supervision and repair of ULDs and Galley Equipment within Delta’s span of control and system. The lead provides maintenance support, regulatory compliance, interfaces with ULD/Galley Equipment vendors for modifications and improvements. Promote a safety conscious environment that results in employee safety and an efficient operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Promote on-site Delta safety and environmental compliance
Ensure FAA compliance relative to ULD/Galley Equipment repair
Adhere to Component Maintenance Manuals guidance
Enforce technical data usage in the repair process
Conduct quality control of repairs and repair processes as according to written instructions
Conduct internal audits; respond to and implement corrective actions of external audits
Oversee scrap and disposition of equipment and components that are Beyond Economic Repair (BER)
Monitor tool calibration schedules
Establish shelf life management procedures
Coordinate and schedule of shop work
Ability to become welding certified for basic sheet metal repairs
Supervise repair workforce at assigned station; provide temporary relief at other repair facilities
Oversee and pursue accomplishment of department and station performance goals
Practices safety-conscious behaviors and enforces workplace safety and health culture
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles
Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
Must have a FAA Airframe “A” license;
Prior lead technician, supervisory, or management experience highly desired
Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and familiar with the ULD industry
Understanding of FAR 121 and 145 repair certifications as it pertains to ULD repair
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience required
Prior leadership preferred, such as strong supervisory, mentoring, and coaching skills
Must be able to self-manage both from an operational viewpoint as well as strategically
Capability of building effective business partnerships with Delta’s outside vendors, contractors and business partners
