Job Description
Reporting to the Sr Director or Sr Manager, this position is responsible for assigned category strategies as determined by the Sr Director or Sr Manager. The Category Manager will establish category plans and strategies to drive continuous optimization through the practice and execution of Category Management in collaboration with key stakeholders and Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Develop 3-5 year strategic category plans for business operations
Work directly with business unit leaders to drive execution of category strategies, continuous improvement, and spend optimization
Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and other category managers to drive synergies across multiple categories to optimize total spend, enable supply chain value and savings for the business.
Work across multiple Hawaiian Airlines business units to enable optimum value and supply chain
Perform spend analysis by category, supplier, and commodity area, and leverage findings to drive category strategies
Develop a sufficient understanding of category business users and business models to effectively represent Hawaiian Airlines in the market
Perform market research of relevant business models, suppliers, products, and services
Develop annual sourcing and category initiatives that drive synergies and maximum supply chain value across multiple categories
Develop, lead, and guide sourcing and negotiation strategies that enable maximum benefit to HA
Lead category initiatives and contract negotiations for top tier supplier relationships and sourcing initiatives and as directed by the Senior Manager
Influence and support continuous improvement of HA Sourcing & Procurement standard practices
Approve requisitions at defined approval thresholds
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Bachelors' Degree
1 year of Strategic Sourcing and contract negotiations experience
Demonstrated ability to drive YoY savings is required
Demonstrated fluency in RFx process and sourcing strategy development
Performs complex bid analysis and supplier evaluation models
Self-directing and delivers on multiple projects/goals, manages deadlines and changing priorities without supervision
Capable of serving as Proxy for team’s Manager
Exhibits high ethical standards
Creative thinking skills and enjoys problem solving
Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete data
Trustworthy of maintaining confidentiality
Prior Aviation or Airlines experience
Supply Chain or Contract Negotiations experience
MBA
