Job Description
The MSP Ramp Supervisor (Part Time) position is responsible for overseeing the work of the ramp agents at Terminal 2. The Ramp Supervisor (Part Time) will be responsible for ensuring a safety culture is established and maintained along with ensuring each task at hand is accomplished while building relationships and problem solving.
This position is part-time with variable hours. Hours scheduled may be between 5 – 30 hours per week, depending on business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
Supervise, plan, and assign the daily operation of the Ramp Agents
Complete shift reports and sign timecards
Assist in the management of work schedules, shift trades and requested time off
Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company and federal safety regulations
Prepare incident reports as needed for violations of company policy
Assist in the baggage handling area
Perform as mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
Load and unload baggage, cargo, and co-mail of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and airport baggage areas (baggage make-up area and/or inbound bagroom)
Operate heavy, motorized machinery/equipment including, but not limited to tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, pushback tractors, deicers, etc.
Ensure ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Objects Debris (FOD) and that all ground service equipment is properly maintained
Follow safety regulations, which include the proper use of ground service equipment and wearing proper safety items
Any other duties assigned by management
Job Requirements
Previous Ramp experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Previous supervisory experience
