Job Description

The role of the Cargo Ramp Agent is responsible for providing all necessary and required under-wing ground support services, organizing the warehouse and storage facilities, arranging the warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo. Maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

• Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure

• Deliver air cargo to cargo warehouse

• Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of when found.

• Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager

• Load/unload air cargo from/to trucks and aircraft

• Prepare and palletize cargo as needed

• Make sure paperwork related to the cargo is accurate

• Assure proper handling of cargo, delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment

• Follow Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations

• Comply with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures and Policies

• Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements

• Perform related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Valid driver's license

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work in inclement weather

• Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays)

• Excellent Health & Safety awareness

• Lift heavy objects that could reach 50 pounds (22 kilograms)

• Prior aviation experience is preferred

• Ramp experience is preferred

• Cargo experience is preferred
