The Sr. Benefits Specialist will be the main point of contact for all US leaves of management as well as handle day to day administrative duties within the benefits department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Administer company benefit programs, including all or part of the following;
medical/dental/vision coverage, STD, LTD, ADA, FMLA, retirement programs, worker’s compensation and
voluntary insurance coverage
Perform daily administration of all types of leave, including helping employees understand types of leave available, assisting with applying for leave, facilitating prompt returns from leave and handling questions regarding leave
Serve as the liaison between employees, human resources, managers/supervisors and vendors, advising them on eligibility, provisions and other related matters
Provide counseling and oversee communications in leave of absence, workers compensation and relevant benefit programs to employees
Maintain records and other related documents
Assist with internal and external audits
Maintain current knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, all leave related laws and regulations including, but not limited to; FMLA and Worker’s Compensation
Participate in special projects as needed and perform other job related duties as required
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related business discipline
2-4 years’ relevant work experience
Solid understanding of worker’s compensation law, state laws and leaves of absence management
Must obtain an Airport ID Badge within 30 days of employment, if required
High level analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Strong customer focused
Excellent time management and follow up skills
Ability to take initiative, adapt to changes, and deal with frequent and constant change
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Must demonstrate high level of confidentiality and professionalism
