Job Description
Hangar Machine operates machine shop equipment to repair and/or restore Delta and customer aircraft parts to their original serviceable condition. Manufactures or repairs components both on-wing and in a shop environment to correct dimensions and tolerances per approved documentation. Individual will manufacture, inspect, install and finish ream bushings to size. Individual will be required to perform inspections during rework, document maintenance procedures and examine condition of parts or equipment. Individual will utilize appropriate tools, manuals and chemicals to effectively and efficiently accomplish repair related functions within allotted timeframes without compromising safety and compliance. Required to design and construct specialized tooling when necessary. The individual will be required to work both indoors and outside during all seasons, in confined spaces and from ladders, platforms, sissor lifts and basket lifts. The Hangar Machine Shop is a 24/7 operation and therefore the applicant must be willing to work shifts which could be 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts, nights, weekends and holidays. Domestic and international travel will be required in times of Aircraft On Ground (AOG) in other Delta served cities. The individual must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Requirements
Two year post-secondary Machine Tool Technology Certificate and 4 years precision machining experience in the set up and operation of Vertical, Horizontal, Jig and Boring Mills, Turret and Engine Lathes, I.D. and O.D. Grinders, Jig Grinders, Tool Grinders, Drill Presses and Radial Arm drills.
Must be able to sharpen cutting tools and drills.
Must know the use of and perform work using all types of machine shop measuring instruments.
May be required to work alternate shifts and days off.
Must be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with little or no assistance.
Must be a team player and active participant in identifying process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Must demonstrate a willingness to practice safe work habits as evidenced through behavior and attitude.
Must be able to learn and apply new skills such as shot peen, brush cadmium plating or other tasks related to landing gear, engine, component and aircraft overhaul.
Must have the ability to respond flexibly to changing or multiple work demands.
Must have the ability to work independently without close supervision.
Have a valid driver's license
Be at least 18 years of age
Be able to pass an extensive background check, drug test and audiogram.
Be authorized to work in the US Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
