Accountable for managing the day-to-day Cargo operations in North America and Latin America ensuring a safe and secure operation modeled against Delta's vision and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Responsible for maintaining and establishing cross-divisional partnerships with Airport Customer Service in a strategic manner to achieve key performance targets (CGO KPIs) while providing a role model for local employees.
The Position is responsible for the strategic implementation of process work flows that will lead to continuous improvement throughout the operation as measured by established operational metrics.
This position promotes team building through motivational and directional coaching, broadening employees’ vision while developing their expertise.
Position currently has a team of four (4) Regional Managers.
This manager position is responsible for all Environmental standards, regulations, customs and compliance requirements. Guarantees all regulatory security measures are fully complied with.
Must be able to build effective business partnerships with Delta's outside contractors/business partners, vendors, customers, OALs, and multiple airport.
The position closely coordinates with Commerical team, Revenue Management, and Space Control, while working closely with Regional Manager operating stations.
Supports development and implements annual strategy plans for cargo and mail volume, ground handling revenue targets, OJI improvements, productivity measurements and team building.
This position interacts with internal personnel requiring cooperation with various personalities and with all levels of management and non-management personnel.
Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree, plus minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
This position requires a working knowledge of DL Term and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent oral and written skills in the English language.
Knowledge of cargo operation, security, customs and regulations preferred.
Must possess strong customer service skills and a strong understanding of safety and compliance.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required for effective service recovery.
Candidate must be able to manage to an operating plan.
Should exhibit strong planning and organizational skills.
Possess ability to think strategically and have solid decision making skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to set high standards of performance for self and others and must be able to guide others in adhering to these standards.
Ability to drive change within the workplace.
