Job Description
An Aircraft Librarian is expected to perform all or some of the following duties (independently, proficiently, with minimal supervision) , as directed by Leadership:
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Assists with the systemwide print and electronic distribution of technical documents (e.g., aircraft checklists, manuals).
Strictly adheres to an established workflow for the distribution of technical documents to various outputs.
Conducts regular aircraft audits to ensure documents are present, current, clean, and properly placed.
Tracks aircraft publications and revisions.
Performs special aircraft distributions, as directed by Leadership.
Helps to ensure that stock levels of print items in designated Maintenance Bases and Stations are maintained.
Maintains awareness of aircraft routing system to prepare for any operational challenges in preparing/re-routing inventory.
Maintains relationships with Customers and Employees to help ensure items are properly distributed.
Works with Comply365, MS Office Suite, Quickbase, OTIS and other software applications.
Prioritizes multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Communicates with Leaders, Co-workers, and Customers respectfully and professionally.
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
Job Requirements
The position will report to Central Publications at HDQ, but you will be working at the MDW airport. Therefore, you must currently reside in MDW or be willing to relocate.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
High School diploma or equivalency, required.
1-2 years of experience in aviation operations preferred.
Must be able to perform all job functions within cramped and confined spaces and in hazardous areas.
Must be able to lift and move items of up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods of time.
Must be able to use a computer with a standard video display terminal for extended periods of time.
Must be able to travel extensively.
Must have a flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends. Must work assigned schedule.
Must be able to learn new programs quickly and use software effectively.
Must be able to perform day-to-day job functions effectively and within established timeframes.
Must be able to master concepts needed to perform job function.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must have strong Customer Service skills.
Must have the ability to work well with others as a Team.
Must meet the Southwest Airlines Expectations for all Employees.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must be able to meet various airport badging qualifications, including extensive background checks.
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
