Job Description
Lufthansa Cargo, the market leader in the international airfreight industry, is looking for an energetic and well-rounded intern (m/f) with knowledge and interest in strategy, marketing, finance and project management for their regional office to USA & Canada based in Chicago, IL. The selected applicant will support the commercial team with sales steering, marketing & controlling related tasks.
The intern will assist in gathering data and more importantly transform this data to meaningful intelligence to steer business decisions, develop forecasts and budgets. In our rapidly changing line of business, flexibility is a must. Job duties may change between now and the start of the internship. However, the following tasks should raise your interest before applying.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Gather and evaluate statistical data and prepare reports and presentations on sales, pricing, products, network and competition
Support the budget planning process for revenue and cost
Monitor budget deviations and develop corrective action in close cooperation with the management
Apply planning and analytical skills to support business and process improvement projects
Support in special projects
Be involved in classic marketing fields such as customer segmentation, trend-, market- and competitor analysis
Job Requirements
At the date of your internship you have completed the 2nd semester in business administration, management or similar
Enrolled during the whole period of the internship (please attach the current certificate of enrollment) or internship between Bachelor and Master studies (Gap-Year)
You already gained practical experience during other relevant internships
You have excellent analytical skills, affinity to figures and experience with statistical analysis
You know how to gather facts and figures and write concise briefing papers
You have the ability to work on multiple assignments with tight deadlines
You are savvy in the use of all standard office software especially in data analysis in MS Excel (MS Access desirable)
Experience with pivot tables, functions, data analysis, charts required (VBA is helpful)
You have very good English language skills (speaking/writing), as well as presentation skills
Experience in logistics or airline industry is a plus
You are a citizen of the EU or have a German work permit for at least 130 full working days
You have a valid passport for the entire period of the internship
