Job Description
The E-Commerce Content Strategist, North America will be responsible for championing and implementing tactics to optimize content on both the USA and Canada Qatar Airways websites, in view of driving incremental sales.
This includes the mapping out and owning of Qatar Airways North America’s digital content strategy, the crafting of relevant and compelling content write-ups and tactical copy, the creation and optimization of landing pages, and more generally ensuring locally managed pages are maintained. As the copy writing expert within the team, the jobholder will be the go-to person for all eCommerce copy needs.
The ideal candidate is a talented writer with a passion for the world of travel, and has pragmatic ideas about how an airline can leverage inspirational content to its benefit. Also, he/she is versed in web analytics and optimization with a penchant for eCommerce.
This is a full-time position is based in New York City. Some travel is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Champion a best in class digital content strategy, to inspire travelers and prospects beyond fares and promotions
Write original content pieces aligned with overarching brand and commercial objectives, to be hosted on the US and Canada websites.
Write tactical copy aligned with overarching brand and commercial objectives, to be hosted on the US and Canada website
Upkeep the USA and Canada Qatar Airways websites, by ensuring that pages are created and updated in a timely manner, in accordance with the promotional and content calendars.
Optimize landing pages leveraging a multitude of data points, including website analytics, digital media performance metrics, e-newsletter results, and other data sources.
Own the UX strategy to improve engagement and conversion rates: monitor metrics, initiate A/B testing, identify potential bugs or issues, and collaborate with stakeholders in the Qatar Airways Headquarters to enhance the website experience.
Create and maintain dashboards and reports relative to landing page performance.
Deliver copy for various digital assets needed by the rest of eCommerce team.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned and back-up other eCommerce colleagues as required.
Work closely with other departments and utilize existing partnerships and to enhance digital content strategy and optimize tactical campaigns.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or relevant college qualification
3-4 years’ experience with content writing related activities, including time spent within a Marketing or eCommerce team.
Team player comfortable in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment
Proficiency updating website pages using a Content Management Systems (CMS) - Adobe Experience Manager experience is a plus.
Fluency in French is a plus (for Canada Website).
Proficiency with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics is a plus).
