Job Description
Candidates are responsible for having any work permits or visas necessary to work in Canada at the time of submitting an application. Delta will be responsible for identifying the work documentation requirements or for advising the applicant on the steps required for obtaining such documentation.
As a member of our ground crew in Toronto, you will work in an enjoyable team environment. The position involves a variety of functions. Employees are required to be familiar with the following work functions: Ticket Counter Representative, Gate Agent and Baggage Handler/Ramp Operator.
Ticket Counters/Gate Agents
In this role, agents are responsible for serving our customers in both the ticketing and gate areas. Ticket agents are the first to greet our customers and guide and assist them with the ticketing and baggage check-in process. Gate agents help our customers with routing, trip planning and gate boarding. Agents are required to work consistently in public areas surrounded by other people and be able to understand and respond to a variety of questions about travel information. Additionally, you may be responsible for escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.
Baggage Handler/ Ramp Agent
In this role, you are required to safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft. In addition, you will be responsible for on-time connections by guiding incoming and departing aircrafts from the gate positions. It is important to safeguard cargo, baggage and mail from damage, loss, and weather. Additional duties include safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion.

All positions are subject to rotating shifts and days off
Will require working weekends and holidays

Hourly rate: The position currently pays $15.05 hourly.

Job Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be in possession of a valid Driver's License.
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have Canadian citizenship or possess proper authorization to live and work in Canada.
Must demonstrate attendance reliability.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. including wheel chair and 'straight back assistance'
Frequently lift bags or items weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
Must be able to provide quality customer service.
Must be fluent in English .
Must possess basic computer skills.
