    Duties and Responsibilities

    Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

    • Designs, develops, and maintains content on all existing Southwest Airlines web sites and Customer email communications

    • Trains and mentors other designers to provide creative direction and ensure highest standards

    • Maintains knowledge and guides team in best practices related to industry trends and technologies for digital design, front-end development, and content management

    • Leads creative idea conceptualizing and contributes to copywriting support for digital channels

    • Collaborates and contributes to maintaining Southwest brand & style guidelines in digital channels

    • Executes on scalable solutions for long term success and proactively prepares for the future

    • Makes recommendations to drive Marketing strategy forward and follows through against promised timelines

    • Understands big picture and impacts with a focus on future state.

    • Provides solutions and recommendations for issues. Applies best practices in translating business needs and strategic initiatives into visual design

    • Tells a compelling and relevant story that conveys well thought-out recommendations, creates a point of view, collaborates effectively, presents with poise and confidence

    • Is adaptable to evolving business needs and a changing environment

    • Solution oriented; positively impacts the environment of his or her direct team and Marketing department

    • Works with leader to align on priorities, constructively address project work, and build personal development plans

    Job Requirements

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

    • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in digital/graphic design, web development, advertising, marketing, or a related field preferred

    • Minimum 6 years experience as a web designer or related field including strong front-end development; OR minimum 4 years experience as a web designer or related field with an advance degree

    • Minimum 2 years experience mentoring and developing other designers

    • Minimum 2 years experience in email design/development including responsive design

    • Experience using HTML and CSS to create web and email content is required

    • Ability to exhibit balanced strength in design & development skills in order to problem solve both creative and technical challenges

    • Strong project management skills

    • Experience with Browser/Email compatibility, Javascript, and WCAG guidelines is preferred

    • Proficiency with software packages including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required

    • Experience designing and establishing brand positioning for Fortune 500 companies is required.

    • Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within enterprise Content Management Systems is required

    • Experience conceptualizing creative ideas, presenting and defending those ideas, and leading execution across multi-disciplinary teams

    • Experience using Interwoven/Teamsite, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Manager, and Adobe Campaign is preferred

    • Communicates effectively by listening intently, questioning appropriately, and articulating clearly in both written and verbal formats

    • Handles high volumes of work with ability to prioritize effectively and hit promised timelines

    • Delivers quality work within a low-cost environment

    • Ability to demonstrate high emotional intelligence in various situations dealing with both Customers and fellow Employees

    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

    • OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
