    Lufthansa Technik Component Services (LTCS) is looking for a motivated, qualified and proaktive student (m/f) who commits himself/herself to support our local team.

    Lufthansa Technik Component Services (LTCS), a subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT) - the world's leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services is looking for a self-motivated, energetic and well-rounded Intern (m/f). This is a paid internship for which we will also take over the costs for the visa and the flight. A shared apartment is organized as well.

    Within the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) world the so called “capability” is the authorities’ permission for an organization to perform MRO tasks on aircraft components. The capability buildup management deals with the acquisition of skills and knowledge in the production department of the LTCS component MRO shop in order to acquire such capabilities. The decision which capability shall be built up depends on various economical, strategic and technological parameters and is made by the upper management.

    Within this work scope you will support the Capability Buildup Manager to perform manifold tasks e.g. analyzing the current market situation, performing continuous improvement of current processes or prepare economic assessments. In the work-sharing organization of LTCS you will be working closely with other departments and within project teams where you get the chance to apply theoretical knowledge and past experience into practical solutions. You are expected to conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    In our rapidly changing line of business, flexibility is a must. Job duties may change between now and the start of the internship. However, the following tasks should raise your interest before applying:


    • Support the local Manager in day to day activities and ad-hoc projects

    • Perform economic analyses for decision making of future development projects

    • Assistance in the planning and initiation process of approved projects

    • Support the project manager in ongoing development projects

    • Conduct data mining analyses of the current market and competitor situation to perform strategic decisions


    Job Requirements

    • At the date of the internship you have completed the 2nd semester in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering or related fields of study

    • Enrolled during the whole period of the internship (please attach the current certificate of enrollment) or internship between Bachelor and Master studies (Gap-Year)

    • You must fulfill all criteria to get a J1 visa for the United States

    • You must have a valid passport for the entire period of the internship

    • Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken)

    • Proactive and highly self-motivated mindset

    • Ability to work independently
