Lufthansa Passage offers students (m/f) the chance to experience a dynamic working environment during an internship at the Americas headquarters in East Meadow, NY. All interns are fully integrated into the team while working on their own projects as well as supporting the daily business.

We are looking for motivated and proactive students (m/f) who use their knowledge to support our Business Development & Alliances Department.

Internships are offered only to students who are enrolled at university for the whole duration of the internship or in the GAP year.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

• Support management in business development and alliance activities (incl. Star Alliance and Joint Venture)

• Prepare and develop standard reports and analyses for our hub airlines Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Brussels Airlines

• Research industry related trends and developments

• Perform market, benchmarking and SWOT analyses

• Creation of presentations for local management and analysts

• Support all local departments by providing data and information

• Support ad-hoc projects and administrative duties as needed

Job Requirements

• At the date of the internship you have completed your 3rd semester in business administration or related studies

• At the date of the internship you have completed the 2nd semester

• Enrolled during the entire period of the internship or internship between the Bachelor and Master program (Gap Year)

• High affinity to aviation industry in general and airline alliances specifically

• Strong analytical background (affinity to numbers)

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; very good interpersonal skills

• Expert knowledge of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint (MS Access desirable)

• Ability to work independently and under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and structure

• Ability to handle different projects simultaneously

• Previous experience or studies in the aviation industry preferred

• International experience (preferred, but not required)

• Fluency in English required, German desired, other foreign languages of advantage

• Must fulfill all criteria to get J-1visa for the USA
